INAUGURAL “SEEDS OF CHANGE” GARDEN FUNDRAISER
OPENROAD FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL “SEEDS OF CHANGE” GARDEN FUNDRAISER WITH CHEF ROB FEENIE ON JULY 19, 2025
The special long table dinner will be held at Athiana Acres, in partnership with the Panatch Family Foundation, all in support of OpenRoad Foundation’s commitment to community, environment, and education
Richmond, B.C., June 26, 2025 - OpenRoad Foundation, the registered philanthropic arm of OpenRoad Group, and the Panatch Family Foundation are excited to present its inaugural Seeds of Change fundraiser event: a special long-table soirée set amidst the beautiful garden grounds of Athiana Acres on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Tickets are available now online.
Seeds of Change aims to connect the community and culinary artistry in a collaborative dining experience featuring acclaimed chef Rob Feenie of Le Crocodile by Rob Feenie, together with award-winning chef Dino Renaerts of Bon Vivant Catering. The dinner will highlight locally-sourced ingredients, including seasonal organic produce provided by Athiana Acres, paired with fine wine and craft cocktails.
CBC Vancouver’s Lien Yeung is emcee, while Vancouver’s esteemed Fred Lee is auctioneer.
“At OpenRoad Foundation, our goal is to help fuel our commitment to grassroots organizations and fund initiatives that open up new possibilities for people across B.C. and Ontario,” says Shea Studler, OpenRoad Foundation Manager. “In celebration of OpenRoad turning 25 this year, we wanted to organize our first Seeds of Change fundraiser – welcoming our guests to learn more about our Foundation, while helping us grow something meaningful together. The event was also created to encourage conversation and raise awareness about food insecurity in the Metro Vancouver area.”
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Vancouver Food Runners, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and the impact of wasted food on the environment. Since the launch of their food recovery program, Vancouver Food Runners has successfully redirected more than three million pounds of surplus food to community partners and those in need.
Earlier this year, OpenRoad Foundation launched a landmark 25 in 25 grant initiative, awarding 25 grants of $25,000 – totalling $625,000 – to nonprofits and charities in Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto that align with the Foundation’s three philanthropic pillars: community, environment, and education.
“With the 25 in 25 campaign and events such as Seeds of Change, OpenRoad Foundation is planting the groundwork for long-lasting impact,” adds Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Group. “We see philanthropy as an opportunity to grow alongside our communities and contribute to a better future. We look forward to welcoming guests to our inaugural event, which we hope will be the first of many.”
